About 11 per cent of medicines in developing countries are counterfeit and likely responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of children from diseases like malaria and pneumonia every year, the World Health Organization said Tuesday. Fake or substandard medicine are an ongoing problem in developing countries. Many families give up what little money they have for medication and it ends up killing them anyways. These companies only give out these counterfeit medications to make profit, despite the damage they cause. Making profit should not be more important then the lives of those who are in need of the service the company provides.

Its so crazy that these counterfeit drugs are being given to people in need, from pharmacies that you should be able to trust.

11% being counterfeit is horrible! Between 72,000 and 169,000 children may be dying from pneumonia every year after receiving bad drugs which is so wrong and heartbreaking. I'm happy the world health organization is raising awareness about this!

Good topic. Its horrible to hear that these people believe they are getting these medications to help with their sickness and are not getting what they need because companies don't care about the people they are giving fake help to that can cause them to die, just for the money.

I feel like selling false medication is very wrong.. The people that do so are killing people or making their sickness worse. They can be at fault but no one can actually get into trouble because it is privately owned

Good topic. People in these countries depend on vital medications and drugs. When companies make faulty products they should be held responsible.
